Dear members of EUROPUMP, dear members of Hydraulic Institute, dear friends,
on behalf of ASSOPOMPE, the Italian Pump Manufacturers Association, I am pleased to invite You and your Accompanying Partners to the 2019 EUROPUMP Annual Meeting, which will take place in Napoli from May 23rd to 25th.
There are many good reasons to participate. First of all to meet friends. In this era of internet and fast communication what else than taking a rest, shaking our hands and having personal relation in an friendly environment?
In today’s challenging economic scenario, I definitively believe we need more than ever to share our experiences and exchange views on the status and development of our industry, so important for the development of the planet.
What a better opportunity than participating to the 2019 EUROPUMP Annual Meeting in a beautiful and unforgettable place like Napoli? “Napoli is thousands of colours” says a famous Neapolitan song. Nothing can better describe Napoli, a city full of history, culture, with its own language, extraordinary people, sea and sun, food and music. Who has never heard or sung “O sole mio” or eaten a pizza, the most diffused food in the world, at least once?
But also technology and research. Ferdinando II University is the oldest state University in Europe and still a centre of excellence of technological studies.
Napoli and its surrounding boast 4 UNESCO World Heritages sites: the city of Napoli itself, Reggia of Caserta, Pompei and Ercolano archaeological sites and Costiera Amalfitana with Amalfi and Positano.
During the meeting, organised at the Hotel Royal Continental, a traditional atmosphere hotel located in front of the Borgo Marinaro (sailor village) with all sea view rooms, you would appreciate the visit of the historical centre, discover the hidden underground city and admire the Veiled Christ, a marble sculpture by Giuseppe Sanmartino, preserved in the Sansevero Chapel, which is recognized for being one of the greatest sculptural masterpieces in the world. Your Partners can enjoy the visit to the ancient roman Pompei excavations sites or to the marvellous Reggia of Caserta, the former King of Napoli Royal Palace, with its incredible gardens, pools and water games. And there are so much more to see that we suggest you to add some holidays in Sorrento, from which you would have the best view of Napoli with its gulf and the Vesuvius volcano, or to enjoy the sun at Capri and Ischia islands.
Last but not least, Napoli has an international airport and is well connected through highways and fast speed railways. You will have no problems in joining us numerous. We really look forward to seeing you in Napoli.
President of Assopompe
